Full Review:
We flew to Tenerife with Thomsonfly and only had one of the two leg room seats we had paid for(they appeared to have fitted 2 extra seats by the exit bulk heads. We joined the ship after a half hour coach journey and found the checking in system and movement of luggage was as efficient as ever. It was our third time on board Celebration and the new crew were as pleasant as the previous times. What an improvement in the decor and furnishings after the refit in Falmouth. The dining experience and food were excellent as was the entertainment team. It was a bit unsettling having new passengers arriving at the next 2 ports as safety at sea exercises were performed on 3 successive days. The port of call information provided in each cabin was very comprehensive and the destination team provided very good information for the independent traveller. At Gran Canaria 2 of the entertainment team took a group of about 50 people on a walking tour round the town and on to the beach, this was great as not everyone has the confidence to venture off the ship alone but don't want to committ to a long expensive day or half day trip. A suggestion for future cruises is 1) the registering of credit cards on line before leaving home which could speed up the embarcation process, 2) a small map of the ships layout would be useful in our travel document booklet 3) Details of the actual trips for each port with cost, ability levels and duration that we could study and research and even book in advance. All in all we had a superb cruise and wished it was a fortnight instead of 7 nights.Perhaps the Azores and Cape Verde Islands could be incorporated into an extended itinerary.
Cruise Positives:
Ship, crew, entertainment team, food all excellent. looking forward to Ancient Wonders cruise later in the year.
Cruise Negatives:
Weather could have been better, didn't like the Agadir Orientation trip and felt the other trips to long and costly. The ship provides disproportionate areas for smokers on deck 6, where ever you sit you can smell exhaled smoke.
