Full Review:
We sailed on the Destiny on 22 05 2008 on the Mediterranean Renaissance Intinerary. We shared an inside cabin on deck 3 with our twins (aged 8). The cabin was small but kept perfectly clean by our cabin steward Lina who left chocolates and wonderful towel sculptures for the children each night.
The evening shows in the Can Can Lounge were spectacular and the show team and all the staff and crew on board were friendly and helpful at all times. The children had their own kids menu but also enjoyed the restaurant food. The Lido served a mean buffet all day and cream teas at 3.30pm.
The kidzone childrens reps were fantastic and the children enjoyed daytime and evening activities including a chocolate party, backstage tour, autograph hunt and breakfast club. On the days when the weather was less than perfect additional activities were put on indoors or rearranged to accommodate the rain! Don't be put off by negative reviews you have read elsewhere. This was great value for money and a good family holiday.
Cruise Positives:
The staff are one of the greatest assets of the ship and worked tirelessly round the clock (so it seems). Food and drink were plentiful and service excellent.
Cruise Negatives:
The cabin was small (but detailed in the print) but we managed well enough with 4 of us! The weather was disappointing but Thomson don't control that!!
