Full Review:

This was our first cruise. We didnt really know what to expect but had been told many great stories and read the reviews on here. WOW were we in for a treat. Firstly, we didnt really get the weather we expected, but were told by the staff and shore guides that this was unexpectedly bad for normal. (cloudy, 24c, one day of rain in Maderia and one day extra at sea due to high winds at Las Palmas port.

We were moved off the Island Explorer due to repairs over running. Apparently this is a 4* Ship and it shows.

The staff are a credit to the company and really can NOT do enough for you and it really seems like a pleasure for them to serve you. The food was excellent. In the Lido Resturaunt, which is open 24hours a day, its buffet style help yourself. In the Compass Rose its waiter service. In Siroccos its Waiter Service plus - but with an added 16.50 per head.

The entertainment staff were really brilliant, Kerri, Ollie, Dan, Matthew and new girl Katie (first cruise work) and keep the party going all the time.

Cabins, we were on B Deck Aft, inside. to be honest it wasnt a bad room - very much on a parr with a Premier Inn or Travelodge.

The facilities were very good, most of the public areas being on deck 5 or 6.

The pool deck (outside of the lido bar) overlooks the sea and has an outside stage. The Raffles bar is good for a quite drink and the exclusive Eagle Bar on Deck 9 is even quieter.

We really enjoyed our first cruise and will be saving up for the next.

Cruise Positives:

Cruise Negatives:
Bad weather (nobodys fault) and couldnt get to see Las Palmas which was a pitty.
